Charles Dickens In Kent Postcard

In 1817 the family moved to Chatham, the happiest period of his childhood. After Dickens’ marriage Broadstairs became the family’s regular summer retreat. In 1856 he bought his beloved house, Gad’s Hill Place near Rochester, where he died.
