Jane Austen
The Jane Austen Postcard Collection
Jane was born in 1775 and brought up in Hampshire which she loved. Later she moved with her family to Bath and frequently visited relatives in Kent. In 1805 Jane returned to Hampshire with her mother and sister Cassandra, living happily in Chawton until 1817 when she became ill. Jane died in Winchester and is buried in the Cathedral. She is one of the greatest and best loved of all English writers. The series of postcards highlight the most important and influential places in Jane’s short life and illustrate scenes from her six completed novels.
